Travel Guide

We've created a travel guide for our guests which covers basic travel information, as well as information about our destination, the wedding, the resorts, flights, packing lists, etc.

TRAVEL GUIDE

Wedding specifics

Our wedding will be Sunday May 5th 2024 at 4:30pm at Ocean Cliff Hotel Negril, where we will have our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and open-bar party all night under the stars.

We ask that all guests RSVP by Jan 29th 2024. Travel and accommodation details will be sent to guests once we receive RSVPs. Note that rooms at Ocean Cliff & group rates for flights also need to be booked by January 29th 2024.

  • There will be a roundtrip shuttle from the Riu Palace Tropical Bay at 330pm to Ocean Cliff Hotel provided for off-site guests.
  • Kids are welcome! Both Ocean Cliff & Riu Palace Tropical Bay are family-friendly resorts.
  • Dress code: island formal/ cocktail (basically look good and dress tropical! no shorts, t-shirts, jeans or flip flops). The wedding will take place on a stone deck, not the beach, so women can easily wear heels (however stiletto would likely be hard to manage on stones).

About the trip

We decided to get married in Jamaica because it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The natural beauty, people, and food are absolutely fantastic, so it felt like an obvious choice to us.

We wanted to have an intimate and unique venue, but this means it's TINY. So the majority of guests will stay off-site at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay and we will have a roundtrip shuttle for the wedding, and then join everyone at the Riu after we've taken a recovery day from the wedding.

We suggest off-site guests arrive May 3rd which will allow guests to settle in after travelling & enjoy a "free"day. Sunday guests will attend the wedding, and recover Monday. Nat & Corey will then head over to the Riu on Tuesday and celebrate again with those who stayed!

Anyone who is travelling alone and would like to share a room with another guest, please notify Nat. She has a list of guests that can be paired up and will offer suggestions to make it a comfortable pairing!

Planning for Jamaica

  • Make sure your passport is valid until Nov 10th 2024 (over 6 months after travel date)
  • We recommend purchasing travel insurance for your vacation in Jamaica. Tugo offers coverage for "non-traditional" activities (for those who plan on doing excursions)
  • Jamaica uses mostly USD as their currency and generally prefer it to the JMD.
  • We recommend to download and use Whatsapp for texting and calls while in Jamaica, as the average roaming cost in Jamaica is $15 / day and both Ocean Cliff and the Riu have Wifi and eSIM cards can be purchased on arrival.
  • What to pack: wedding outfit, daytime/casual clothes, swimwear, sandals, sunscreen, bug repellent & whatever you may need to survive a hangover 😅 (advil, gravol, electrolytes, etc).
